The new chairman of KEVR with the ambition to have solar panels on every roof

The Parliament elected Stanislav Todorov as the new chairman of the Commission for Energy and Water Regulation. He has significant experience in the energy sector, having been involved in the management of a large thermal power plant for many years. However, Todorov sees the future and perspective in renewable energy sources.

"The entire energy structure of Europe and the world is changing. If we are only interested in how to protect private or political interests, we will have a disaster," said Todorov. According to him, everyone in Bulgaria should have the opportunity to put solar panels on their roof. At the time, he defended the government's policy of helping all consumers at the current high energy and energy prices.

Todorov emphasized that KEVR will not be a "binder of business" and will try to support, not limit, private initiative. In the conditions of very high electricity prices, a number of Bulgarian companies are focusing on the rapid construction of photovoltaic installations on the roofs of the buildings where their production facilities are located and in this way achieve significant savings in electricity costs.
