The US will compete with China in the production of photovoltaic panels

China's dominance of the global solar industry has been dealt a blow, according to CNN.
First Solar Corporation has unveiled plans to double its manufacturing capacity in the US by building a new state-of-the-art factory in Ohio. The $680 million investment by First Solar (FSLR), the only major U.S.-based solar panel manufacturer, will be the company's third factory in the Toledo area. First Solar said it believes it will be the world's largest fully integrated solar manufacturing complex outside of China.
It will be able to make one solar module every 2.8 seconds. And it will mostly provide for America's booming clean energy market. The major solar expansion in the Midwest supports efforts by President Joe Biden, who is simultaneously trying to revive the nation's manufacturing industry, modernize infrastructure, strengthen its critical supply chains and create a clean energy superpower to meet China's challenge over the sector .
